Warum ich die (schriftliche) Mediation / Sprachmittlung für eine konstruierte und fürs „wirkliche Leben“ wenig relevante Aufgaben- und Prüfungsform halte, habe ich bereits an anderer Stelle beschrieben. Vollends absurd wird die SprachMITTLUNG m.E. allerdings, wenn für sie ein ÜBERsetzungsverbot bzw. ein Paraphrasierungszwang ausgesprochen wird.

… ist spätestens seit dem dem Erscheinen des KMS „Unterricht in den modernen Fremdsprachen in Bayern“ das Motto der Oberstufe im bayerischen Gymnasium in Englisch. Das ist eine gute Sache, denn bekanntlich sollen wir unsere Kinder auf eine „Wissensgesellschaft“ vorbereiten und das ist es nur von Vorteil, wenn die Köpfe der Kinder nicht schon in der Schule mit zu viel unnützem Wissen vollgestopft werden.
Wenn Schüler fragen, was denn jetzt eigentlich genau im Kolloquium drankommen kann, bekommen sie meistens die Antwort: „Alles, was wir gemacht haben“. Diese Antwort schafft m.E. sowohl für Schüler als auch für Lehrer nur Probleme.
Nicht nur, dass die Mediation (zumindest so, wie sie in Bayern gemacht wird) im „richtigen Leben“ praktisch keinerlei Bedeutung hat, sie ist darüberhinaus auch noch sehr schwierig zu bewerten.

First reading: During the first reading you should try to get an overview of the text and its (argumentative) structure. If it’s a literary text your aim should be to understand the plot (Handlung) of the story. You should ask yourself questions like: What is it all about? How is the text structured? What is the writer’s attitude towards his topic? What are his main arguments?
