On Your Way to the Top<\/h4>\n

Are\u00adn\u2019t we all sick and tired of always play\u00ading the same few stu\u00adpid games in PE? Should\u00adn\u2019t the\u00adre be some\u00adthing else than cat\u00adching, thro\u00adwing and kicking stin\u00adking old balls? If you ask yours\u00adelf the same ques\u00adti\u00adons are bug\u00adging you, clim\u00adbing might be an answer.<\/p>\n

Don\u2019t even start crying \u201cBut that is so dan\u00adge\u00adrous!\u201d \u2013 the\u00adre is more than the \u201cclas\u00adsic\u201d kind of clim\u00adbing that requi\u00adres a lot of expen\u00adsi\u00adve equip\u00adment, space for tho\u00adse ins\u00ada\u00adnely high walls and of cour\u00adse someone wat\u00adching and rea\u00addy to help all the time. Doing this with a school class would wit\u00adhout doubts result in high cos\u00adts and the first stu\u00addent being inju\u00adred  after two minu\u00adtes \u2013 or let\u00adting ever\u00adyo\u00adne climb for about five seconds until it\u2019s the next one\u2019s turn so ever\u00adyo\u00adne can get at it.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s bould\u00ade\u00adring that could bring a gre\u00adat varie\u00adty into schools\u2019 PE clas\u00adses. Bould\u00ade\u00adring focu\u00adses on clim\u00adbing tech\u00adni\u00adque, as it is very simi\u00adlar to wall clim\u00adbing but with seve\u00adral gre\u00adat  advan\u00adta\u00adges: The\u00adre is no rope and com\u00adpli\u00adca\u00adted metal gear nee\u00added, it takes less space and you never climb hig\u00adher than two or three meters \u2013 no pro\u00adblem with a thick mat\u00adtress underneath.<\/p>\n

Ano\u00adther posi\u00adti\u00adve aspect of bould\u00ade\u00adring is the fact that it\u2019s per\u00adfect\u00adly adjus\u00adta\u00adble to everyone\u2019s per\u00adso\u00adnal skills. Having a handful of oustan\u00addin\u00adgly good play\u00aders in foot\u00adball or vol\u00adley\u00adball almost always spoils the fun for the others as they run around try\u00ading to get the ball just once while a few stu\u00addents make the game. One clim\u00adbing wall offers a lot of tracks of dif\u00adfe\u00adrent dif\u00adfi\u00adcul\u00adty, the\u00adr\u00ade\u00adfo\u00adre it means fle\u00adxi\u00adbi\u00adli\u00adty and less frus\u00adtra\u00adted stu\u00addents. Stres\u00adsing adroit\u00adness, mobi\u00adli\u00adty and fle\u00adxi\u00adble thin\u00adking, it\u2019s also a good sport for the smal\u00adler, more ten\u00adder class mem\u00adbers with less phy\u00adsi\u00adcal strength.<\/p>\n

All in all bould\u00ade\u00adring is a sport worth of being a part in PE les\u00adsons. It may still be a litt\u00adle too ris\u00adky with lar\u00adge hyper\u00aden\u00ader\u00adge\u00adtic fifth clas\u00adses, but why let your cour\u00adse of may\u00adbe twen\u00adty older stu\u00addents rejoice over this gre\u00adat new acti\u00advi\u00adty?
