Nevert\u00adhel\u00adess the\u00adre are many human beings who are not free and have no digni\u00adty and no rights. Alt\u00adhough slavery is ille\u00adgal in every coun\u00adtry of the world, it still exists.<\/p>\n Nowa\u00addays slavery is not that dif\u00adfe\u00adrent from what it was in the past. Not only adults have to work for a pit\u00adtance but also child\u00adren. For exam\u00adp\u00adle in Ban\u00adgla\u00addesh child labor is the big\u00adgest ille\u00adgal inco\u00adme. Child\u00adren spend time in win\u00addow\u00adless indus\u00adtri\u00adal buil\u00addings with just one break a day, loa\u00adding and unloa\u00adding assem\u00adbly lines and trans\u00adport vehic\u00adles. Many goods, like clo\u00adthes or MP3-Play\u00aders are pro\u00addu\u00adced in Ban\u00adgla\u00addesh and get impor\u00adted to other continents.<\/p>\n But not only working in fac\u00adto\u00adries can be a form of slavery. Many sea\u00adso\u00adnal workers from Eas\u00adtern Euro\u00adpe work on plan\u00adta\u00adti\u00adons. At a heat of 40\u00b0C they have to bring in the har\u00adve\u00adst. In the night\u00adti\u00adme they sleep on plan\u00adta\u00adti\u00adons under cor\u00adru\u00adga\u00adted iron roofs wit\u00adhout any hygie\u00adnic ser\u00advice and under humi\u00adlia\u00adting cir\u00adcum\u00ads\u00adtances nobo\u00addy can imagine.<\/p>\n We will never know whe\u00adther the Burj Cha\u00adli\u00adfa sky\u00adscra\u00adper in Dubai was built by legal workers or not. Many con\u00ads\u00adtruc\u00adtion workers from India work in Dubai, just like the child\u00adren in Ban\u00adgla\u00addesh, for ludicrous\u00adly low wages. Wit\u00adhout any iden\u00adti\u00adty, becau\u00adse their pass\u00adports were taken away by their employ\u00aders, they have to work alt\u00adhough they don\u2019t have a working permit.<\/p>\n The worst form of modern slavery howe\u00adver is pro\u00adsti\u00adtu\u00adti\u00adon. At an age of bare\u00adly six\u00adteen years girls e.g. in Asia have walk the streets to earn money for their fami\u00adlies. Losing their vir\u00adgini\u00adty is easy money and sel\u00adling their body to stran\u00adgers as well.<\/p>\n We must\u00adn\u2019t clo\u00adse our eyes to the\u00adse forms of slavery and con\u00adstant\u00adly remind our poli\u00adti\u00adci\u00adans to demand respect for the Uni\u00adver\u00adsal Decla\u00adra\u00adti\u00adon of Human Rights.<\/p>\nI\u2019m A Slave 4 U<\/span><\/h4>\n
