At most tra­di­tio­nal milon­gas you can only dance to old, ori­gi­nal record­ings with their often scratchy, his­sing, noi­sy Shel­lac sound. I have never unders­tood why most „tra­di­tio­nal“ DJs sim­ply igno­re con­tem­pora­ry record­ings of „old“ music. Some say that „true“ tan­go can only be dan­ced to ori­gi­nal record­ings, while others claim that „authen­tic“ record­ings are musi­cal­ly supe­ri­or, that EdO musi­ci­ans were sim­ply bet­ter and prai­se their „uni­que“ sound and musi­ca­li­ty. I’m not a trai­ned musi­ci­an, so I don’t pre­tend to be able to eva­lua­te musi­cal qua­li­ty on a deeper level. Howe­ver I stron­gly doubt that trai­ned musi­ci­ans like for examp­le Solo Tan­go Orques­ta are infe­ri­or to musi­ci­ans of the 1930s and 40s. And even if I could dis­cern some high­ly sub­t­le dif­fe­ren­ces of qua­li­ty when I lis­ten at home under ide­al cir­cum­s­tan­ces (no back­ground noi­se, excel­lent loud­spea­kers, etc.) and with full atten­ti­on, would I care about them, when I „only“ want to dance? Cer­tain­ly not. A lively, ener­ge­tic sound and excel­lent audio qua­li­ty are/would be far more important for me. 

I find it a pity that you can rare­ly dance to con­tem­pora­ry record­ings of tra­di­tio­nal music. The­re are so many gre­at groups/orchestras with won­der­ful arran­ge­ments. Here are orche­s­tras and some of their music for tan­go, vals [V] and/or milon­ga [M] that I like and play at milon­gas. I have limi­ted mys­elf to three tracks per orches­tra that I like and to music that is easi­ly avail­ab­le on Spo­ti­fy (and You­Tube). Orche­s­tras appe­ar in alpha­be­ti­cal, tracks in ran­dom order. My choice of tracks is of cour­se com­ple­te­ly sub­jec­ti­ve (and often ran­dom), they are NOT sup­po­sed to be the „best“ tracks. My three favou­rite orche­s­tras at the moment are Roman­ti­ca Milongue­ra, Solo Tan­go Orques­ta and Sex­te­to Milonguero.

I hope my list hel­ps you dis­co­ver awe­so­me „new“ tan­go music. If you are a DJ, I hope that you will start play­ing tho­se orche­s­tras or play more of their fan­tastic music.
